Over the past year, Randy Wooten has not had a chance to watch films in the theater because of the current global health crisis, but he hasn’t been idle either. He’s taken the time to catch up on all the shows they’ve shown on TV, which he’s missed. And one of these shows is the masterpiece, “Band of Brothers.”

For Randy Wooten, “Band of Brothers” may very well be the most well-made single-season TV show ever. Of course, “Saving Private Ryan” is his number one war movie of all time, and “Band of Brothers” complements it and adds so much more.

Produced by both Spielberg and Tom Hanks and released by HBO back in 2001, “Band of Brothers” takes viewers on the journey of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. At times harrowing and terrifying, and often introspective, this brilliant and stunning series has Randy Wooten wide-eyed and slack-jawed on more than one occasion.

The episodes take viewers through the training, and afterward, some of the most important operations of Easy Company. They conduct recons and raids and hold their ground against all odds in the torrential rain and the murdering winter cold. They gain ground but lose scores of their brothers while fighting for the Allies in the greatest war humanity has ever known.

And while Randy Wooten doesn’t personally know a WWII veteran, he understands them and has a newfound respect for all of them because of “Band of Brothers.”
